Oh Yeah

Thought-provoking- another quality that I forgot to mention...art must be thought provoking. If you feel strongly about something or an emotion arises, it's usually followed by thought.

I think the connection you point out, or the causality, between emotion and thought is --yes-- key to the artistic experience. (And I think Duchamp was highlighting this connection with his "Fountain.") Thanks ~R
